Dodsland Rising

Building Our Future on 40 Years of History

On July 18, 2025, the sky over Dodsland changed forever. As the smoke cleared from the site of the Dodsland Sports Centre, we faced a quiet we hadn’t known for 40 years. The cheers of the Stars, the echo of the Thunder, and the hum of our community’s “living room” had gone silent.

But in the days that followed, a new sound emerged: the sound of a community rolling up its sleeves.

From the 50 volunteers who stood the line during the fire to the neighbors who have already pledged millions to the rebuild, one thing is clear:

The heart of Dodsland doesn’t live in a building—it lives in us.

More Than a Rink

We aren’t just replacing a facility; we are building a legacy. Our new $12-million multi-use hub is designed to be the vibrant center of West Central Saskatchewan—a place where:

  • The Next Generation learns to skate, lead, and compete.
  • Families Gather for celebrations, fundraisers, and community events.
  • Our Region Thrives with a modern, accessible, and sustainable facility that serves the RM of Winslow and beyond.

The “Old Barn” gave us four decades of memories. Now, it’s our turn to build the next forty years.

How You Can Help Build the Future

We are currently in a critical phase of our fundraising. To keep our construction timeline on track and get our athletes back on the ice, our goal is to have all initial pledges and funds committed by January 21, 2026.

Every contribution—no matter the size—is a foundational block for the new Sports Centre.

1. Personal & Corporate Donations

Direct donations can be made through the Village Office or via E-transfer. For those interested in naming rights (dressing rooms, community spaces, or building naming), please contact the Rebuild Committee directly.

2. The Credit Union “Foundation” Loan Program

The Dodsland & District Credit Union has stepped up in a major way to support this project. To help our community meet the $12-million goal, they are offering a specialized loan program for members wishing to donate:

  • Interest-Free Loans: Access a 5-year, 0% interest plan for your donation.
  • Impact: This allows you to pledge a larger gift today while spreading the payments out comfortably over five years.
